Scott A. Gailey CPA is the Chico and Red Bluff firm’s managing director and has more than 30 years of experience serving the needs of a wide range of clients in the manufacturing, service, professional, and agricultural sectors of our local community and abroad. His focus on client relationships has proven invaluable with understanding the interrelationship with our clients and their tax world, whether personal or business related.
Scott founded the firm in 1993 after working for some of the largest national and regional CPA firms. Scott attended Chico State, where he received his accounting degree in 1978. After graduation he was recruited by a regional CPA firm in the Silicon Valley, where he not only gained valuable technical experience with their diverse client base, but also developed an appreciation for client service and the need to build a solid relationship.
Subsequently, Scott was recruited by one of the large national firms in Silicon Valley, Coopers & Lybrand, (now Price Coopers) where he gained experience with many large clients including Ford Aerospace and others that required he travel across the U.S. to supervise and manage many aspects of the firm engagements.
After Coopers & Lybrand, Scott relocated back to Chico where he worked with Matson & Isom gaining experience with local business before starting his practice.
Obtaining this experience big and small has made Scott comfortable with most business environments he works with.
Scott is an outdoor enthusiast who loves to hike, rock climb, back country ski, SCUBA and outdoor photography. Raising his children and involving them in nature has been a passion since they were young.
